Do I need to fix it or replace my windshield?
Whether you want to use your insurance to pay for windshield damage or not, it’s a good idea to repair even the smallest chip before it spreads. If it’s less than the size of a quarter, it’s usually a simple and inexpensive repair.
- Repair – Repairing a stone chip takes around 30 minutes and costs less than $70 on average. If you have comprehensive coverage, the repair shop is usually paid directly, with no deductible.
- Replace – If your windshield has a large crack in it, get it replaced right away for your safety. Depending on the kind of car you drive, replacing your windshield will usually cost between $100 and $700, and take less than an hour to fix. If you have comprehensive coverage you’re covered for the repair, but call us before you make a claim, so we can walk you through your options.
