Terrible cancellation process- will try and steal your money
I was with sonnet for 2 years and cancelled due to a better rate with TD. When renewal came it said to cancel BY june 18th so I cancelled june 16th and paid the month of june for insurance. Good thing I screenshotted that I cancelled my insurance, as I got a notice in the mail saying I RENEWED. While the customer service was friendly, It took multiple emails and over a month for them to get back to me. I had to PROVE i had insurance somewhere else. The entire process was ridiculous. After almost 5 weeks it was stated that it was “sorted” and I would receive 147$ refund in 5-10 business days since July’s insurance amount also came out of my account. 3.5 weeks later i only receive 16$ as a refund and they apologized stating the other 131$ was the “short rate cancellation fee” apparently because I cancelled 2 days before the exact day my policy was up – and they also still took my money for July’s insurance. I am still dealing with this issue. I will NEVER recommend Sonnet insurance. I can’t imagine what situation I would be in if I didn’t take a screenshot that I cancelled my insurance before the necessary date.
Worst Customer Service
I had obtained a tenant policy from. Sonnet in the spring of this year. They were are sweet and helpful when I got it… But it all changed when I bought a house and wanted to transfer the policy. First I was told I’d have to cancel the present policy, pay a huge penalty then any for a new policy for my new property. I said no need, just transfer to the new place , so after a half hour on the phone with customer service, I said just cancel altogether and I’ll go somewhere else. So after 10 weeks of continuous phone calls and emails I finally did a stop payment on the account. No they’re trying everything to get me back. Word of advice, DO NOT GET INSURANCE WITH SONNET.

I got into an accident & when i tried to get hold of them they tried everything to avoid me & refused any rental or collision coverages claim and also said my policy doesn’t have any of these coverages. If I know they were part of Economical Insurance, I would have chose different insurance. My car was stolen from front of house. Claims department was hassle to deal with. One particular adjuster Mohammed K didn’t respond to any inquiries. I had to do half of calls myself and there repair shop was a [redacted] joke. They broken my shift lock during transportation. The idiots kept my car more than a month and I didn’t have choice of who fixes my car. My rental car was paid for a month and I had to pay rest out of pocket due to their taking sweet [redacted] time. God if there was half of star somewhere I will give this company that. THEY ARE BUNCH OF INCOMPETENT IDIOTS WHO KNOWS HOW TO TAKE YOUR MONEY BUT NOT PROVIDE SERVICES.

I recently had a hail damage claim that had 2 appraisals from 2 different companies. I was told by the Insurance company that the first appraiser should not have appraised the damages because they were not authorized to do so. And so a second company comes out and appraises the damage at a much lower estimate. I have no way of confirming it but it sure feels like they were looking for for a company that would provide a favorable estimate. In addition Sonnet/Economical will give you the run around like crazy and will not respond to calls or emails about your claim. I was told that my repair options were being emailed to me 9 days ago and have still not received any communications whatsoever! If you want a hassle free and fair claim process I don’t recommend insuring with Economical/Sonnet.
Worst insurance company you could ever deal with. Customer service bounces you around, claims that would normally take 1-2 weeks take months, no one has an answer for you. Opened a claim a month ago they keep saying we have the wrong paper work and that it wasnt sent they just admitted to finding it in their emails from last month. Puts the blame on the other departement, cant read saaq registration document. FIVE promised follow up calls that they never did.

Signed up for insurace for one of my rental homes and made an error in the description. Was on live chat and the agent was very helpful and professional in answering all of my questions. Their policies are user friendly to read and affordable.

Total lack of transparency regarding rate hikes
I have two properties with Sonnet for two years now. Last year, one property had small increase, but the other property’s costs doubled. This was without significant warning. When I called to question it, I was told “that there’s been a lot of claims in the market, so they have to protect themselves”. Yet I’ve never had a claim, but am getting charged double. Fast-forward to this year, and guess what? Now the other property is also getting a double-rate increase. Again, no claims from me. I have no issue with reasonable increases, but guess what? my wage didn’t double. I’m not charging double rent (I’m really trying to keep the rent frozen). But not Sonnet. Greedy…
Honestly the biggest waste of money
We had went with this insurance company for tenant insurance because we had electrical problems in our home. Two months later, we suffered from an electrical fire and our house was no longer habitable. My partner was born with a heart condition (Aeortic Stenosis) which is directly related to her respiratory system. The insurance company left our things in the apartment for TWO WEEKS in the smoke filled place. They charged us $900 because it was how much our rent was and they don’t cover ‘additional costs’ and they have not communicated with us for anything. They are cheap. They do not care for you, they just want to save money. Do yourselves a favor and spend the money on a better insurance company. Thankful we had ‘insurance’ but wish we were actually insured.

When I first bought my car in 2016 Sonnet was a no brainer. It was easy to get a quote and the coverage was unparalleled. I had been driving maybe about a year and a half when I got into my first accident. Sonnet was there to help me find everything and get my car back on the road. The repairs took almost the whole three weeks that were allowed in the policy. But I knew Sonnet was there for support if needed.
Fast forward to a year later almost and I was hit in my driveway by another vehicle. This is where the issues started. I had to argue vehemently that I was not at fault with this accident and provided photographic evidence that I was still in my driveway and I was able to get it put to 50/50. I went to the police station and filed a report as well. I called the adjuster back and let him know I had a police report filed, he then stated that it did not matter because Sonnet had the final say. Then in December that month when my insurance came due I logged on to discover that my insurance had jumped from 175 to 417 dollars a month… Without major notice. Other than an Email saying that my insurance was up for renewal and that I could login. Didn’t think anything of it.
Fast forward to October where I received an email regarding OAF papers. During this time I am working front line in the mental health field, I recognized the email and printed off the papers and started to fill them out. My hours can be quite hectic and exhausting so keeping track of the days is not easy. I was manning about 5 different positions at this time as well due to layoffs. So you can imagine the mental toll that takes. Let alone the day to day crisis that where being handled when you work in the mental health industry. I realized 10 days after the due day that I had not sent in the paper work. I got them sent in on the saturday october 24th when they had been due the 14th of the month. I explained the situation in my email with the OAF paper and apologized. I had hoped that there would be some leniency due to the pandemic, I know 10 days is a stretch for leniency but I had hoped. I also Called the monday letting the customer service person know the situation. That there was also the potentiality for me to lose my car… My livelihood. As I understood the ramifications of missing the due date I had started looking into other companies and had been told that no I would not be insured due to the accidents. I called again hoping to have an answer regarding insurance from Sonnet. I was told that No there would be no renewal, so I explained the situation again. I was told to do another quote with Sonnet or find another company. I explained that no other company would insure me and that I would risk losing my car. But unfortunately it fell on deaf ears and the gravity of the situation was not grasped. So I did another quote, scraped together the 368 for the first and last payment. I emailed all the information requested. Although I did not understand because I had been with sonnet since 2016. All the information for the accidents were given to the adjusters.I looked into my account last night hoping that it would be approved, Only to find that it said that it needed further review. I called this morning and spoke to a customer service person. I asked multiple times to speak to a manager or supervisor because I knew that is who I needed to speak to. She explained that it had to be escalated,so I gave her the information to identify me for escalation purposes. I explained the situation yet again to her. Getting frustrated having to explain the situation and it not being truly understood again and again since november.
I am frustrated and aghast that Sonnet as an insurance company would let this happen. I am dismayed by the lack of compassion especially during a pandemic to your customers. I used to speak very highly of Sonnet and encouraged people to seek out insurance with Sonnet. Most of my family is insured with Sonnet because of me.
I trusted Sonnet to be there when needed, but I was left in a lerch trying to find auto insurance while being considered a high risk driver during a pandemic while being a front line worker. Being Mentaly, physically and emotionally exhausted from working on the front line dealing with crisis in other people’s lives while being considered and at risk individual myself.
Sonnet , not worth it
I was a customer for over 3 years for 1 auto + 2 homes & also got my parents house & Auto with sonnet
Then they started increasing $ premium year #2 and again even though I have never had a claim or payment issues and have a 878 credit score.
I asked in April when Covid situation was early stages if they are offering some discount to their auto policy customers as other insurance company were , the guy said ” you can reduce coverage or adjust liability $ to save some money” his recommendation = to a potential $7 savings for the year.
Then in Late summer I supposedly was sent an email to fill a Insurance Brokers form + proof of my auto ownership + proof of residency request or they WON’T offer me Auto renewal in Nov. I did my best to do so however the form was lacking instructions and was basically a form a experienced Insurance Broker would fill out, not a person who has no
experience or affiliation in the insurance industry.
When I asked a Sonnet rep what should I after form was rejected ? She said its too late to try and submit another application form even though renewal was +50 days away , she said try a website to search other quotes…I was shocked at her reply and lack of empathy or assistance for a customer who had brought my business and my parents as well to sonnet.
I finally had enough when they DOUBLED my 2 home policies the SAME day of renewal even though a email 3 weeks prior from Sonnet indicated a amount of $75 total monthly not $150 monthly
I said good bye and canceled and am now happily with A REPUTABLE highly recommend insurance company am paying much less. I Will take my parents insurance policies away from sonnet as well and tell my friends and family to do the same.

Activated a home insurance policy with Sonnet online on July 14th 2019. One year policy. All payments taken by Sonnet on date agreed via CC until final payment, end of policy. I receive a renewal of policy email with a higher premium then I had agreed to for the prior year. The amount higher was not acceptable and without justification. I called to inform them I would not be renewing and to ask with such a hike. The explanation was my neighbor may or may not have put a claim. The explanation was satisfactory to me and I voiced that to them. I was under the impression that as I had not agreed to the hike that the policy would not be renewed. I received another email on June 12 from sonnet saying the policy has been renewed. I called again to find out what was going on when I received another email that I was owing $252.16, I called and I was told that I was in arrears. I told them I’m not paying the hike and that if they kept the policy at the rate we had agreed I would continue the policy for another year. They informed that I was not able to change the policy and I could not cancel as I was not in good standing. I explained I had been in good standing throught they year I was insured and had agreed to the terms. On August 20th and 27th I received emails saying they would cancel the policy. I had already told them I did not renew in the first place. When I said cancel it do what ever you must do but I will not do business with Sonnet again. For unethical practices. On September 8th I received another email saying the policy had been cancelled. On September 9th I got another email from Sonnet telling me they would attempt now to take $414.53 on September 23rd and if the payment did not go through they will send to collection agency. I called on September 16th to resolve the matter again and asked for the recording of the conversation as per the freedom of information act. The company refuses to act in accordance with better business practices.

Not transparent. After advising them that the astronomical hike in premium from previous year on my home insurance is unacceptable and after contacting them numerous times to inform them I’m not in agreement of the hike. You will not allowed to stop an auto renewal to be activated at their discretionary unacceptable price gauge . Their excuse for the hike is other property owners in the area may have placed claims on their insurance. So you are penalized. The would not allow me out of payment and I had to change my CC. Finally they cancelled the insurance and now they are threatening me with credit collection even though I’ve been in good standing. Stay away from this company that during a Pandamic has the audacity to treat people so negatively. Its a money Crab!!
Worst company ever. Can never get a hold of anyone. They do not respond to emails. Will not provide the managers name or contact information to make a complaint or voice a concern. Stay away from them. I have emailed 22 times since april, have tried the chat box, it says an agent will be with you shortly, waited over 2 hours before I had to leave. This has happened several times. This is a joke company, not even sure if it is legitimate. I will definitely be looking elsewhere when my policy is up.
There is no one to speak with. They ask you to email, you email day after day, month after month and never get a response. Thus is a horrible company with piss poor customer service. Avoid them at all.costs
Price Increases Each Year
I liked that everything with them was online based easy to set up, add banking etc. Premiums were good in the beginning but after first year it increased by $30/month. Nothing changed with me, no tickets, no accidents etc. Then again at next renewal date it increased by another $22/month. Again nothing changed and they had no valid reasons both times when it went up each year. When you go to cancel ensure you are in the right section of their portal, as when I went to cancel I was in the wrong section and it didn’t allow me to cancel earlier than my renewal date when I wanted to switch. So I had to select the renewal date not realizing I could have selected an earlier date and saved on the next monthly payment.
Condo Insurance nearly Tripled in price
I’ve been with Sonnet for my condo insurance for a number of years now and always allowed it to Auto Renew knowing there will be a slight increase in the annual cost. This year however, the annual cost for my insurance nearly tripled in cost. My cost annual cost went from $462 last year to $1220 this year with no claims made or anything.
After contacting their support through both Chat and on the phone I was simply told it was due to an increase in claims and there is nothing they can do for me, this was not a mistake.
When comparing to quotes from other companies, their annual costs are close to what I paid the previous year. After explaining this to Sonnet, they told me I should cancel my plan and go elsewhere. Horrible way to keep customers.

I’ve had my policy with Sonnet for 5 years now. Overall my rates have only increased by $35 over five years. Customer service was SUPER helpful in assisting me with setting up this policy when I had questions. I’ve had one not at fault claim and the process was super simple, fast and easy. I have recommended this insurer to everyone I know. It’s easy to listen to the bad reviews, as people really only tend to write reviews when they’ve had a bad experience, but this company has an incredible overall satisfaction rating based on reviews from all of their claims (not just the bad ones that take to google) compared to most other companies.

At first I wasn’t sure because I have never submitted a claim with any insurance company. In this case it was for a total loss. They asked a handful of questions at the beginning which made me somewhat concerned that this would be a lengthy and annoying process. Turns out it was the exact opposite. I had a great experience and my representative was amazing (Nancy). Thanks for making this experience a good one. I’ll definitely put my future insurance policies with them and recommend to family & friends.
Trouble cancelling your policy
Like everyone else has noted, Sonnet is awful.
I am trying to cancel my home and auto policies, which have increased despite no claims filed (just like everyone else).
The website keeps failing when I try to cancel my policies. This has been happening for two consecutive days.
I guess I’ll contact the claims line.

My car was stolen, 3 weeks later still no rental and asking me ridiculous questions to prove my address. I call almost every day and speak to someone different each time. My car meant a lot to me and has sentimental value aswell but they are terrible. Worst thing is I recommended this insurance to many friends but I have told them how bad they are with a claim. I don’t understand how they are still in business.

As per similar reviews, the rate was significantly increased upon renewal by 30% with no claims. The rationale was there were claims in the neighbourhood. The following year, the policy was no longer renewable without a valid explanation. The disregard and lack of complete disclosure truly makes Sonnet an organization to keep at arms length and not capitalize on individuals and their families
Warning: Terrible Experience with home insurance claim with Sonnet/Economical
I have home and auto insurance with Sonnet (now Economical). Our dishwasher leaked and we paid $2,000 deductible to have replacement completed. Economical sent our their preferred restoration company, Service Master Durham to complete the work and the flooring contractor they brought in did a terrible job. We raised the issue directly after installation and have been working on a resolution for 6 months now and Economical has now agreed to compensate us for a minimal amount for the flooring tiles (no labour) saying that it’s not their issue. So now we need to pay to have the floors replaced (note our pre-leak floors cost us over $8,000 to install) out of pocket. They will lose our business, and we pay thousands of dollars annually in premiums. I would not recommend this insurer given the multitude of options out there and do not want anyone else to go through what I have had to ensure.
This is a scam they falsely inform you of fake policies and procedures. Then when the time comes they turn around and steal your vehicle from you for false damages and come at you with a list of new “policies” that you were “misinformed” about. The company is a waste of time and money to deal with. They will make up damages to “write off” your car so they can auction it won’t allow a buyback oh and if you want to cancel your claim they write it off anyway and charge you for using the rental coverage YOU PAY FOR as well as tow fees and lot fees etc.
never dealt with such a dishonest company, I had two property claims, they jumped through every hoop to try and avoid paying. Then once they accepted to cover one of the claims, they refused to fix it (which is fine I fixed it my self) then they only fixed half of the damages and tried to get me to open up a second claim to repair the rest so that they can avoid another 1000$ Deductible that i’d Have to pay. THEN I had a bank error on a monthly payment, got a letter, called them the very second I opened it, offered full payment (Christmas shopping, payments for credit cards take a few days to go through) and explained the situation. They were completely dismissive and chose to report me to the credit bureau and cancel my policy over a payment that was 6days late. I have excellent credit… FURIOUS

I had a terrible experience with this company with regards to a no-fault collision and automatic renewal. Since last year, they have doubled my premium without notice, and my monthly insurance payment is double the payment for my actual car. They also charged me a premium of 600 dollars to simply remove my now-salvage vehicle from my policy so I could buy a new car, not to mention offered me peanuts for the car I had to replace. This made it extremely difficult to find a a similar car at the price they offered me for mine. Terrible service and zero communication.
Donot verify information during selling policy and after selling they ask for extra bucks. They say like ur information is wrong so thats why ur quote has incresed.

I was with sonnet Insurance up until the point where I went grocery shopping, my car was parked in a parking spot with no other cars around. My door was open because I was about to get out and a car drove right through my door and almost took it off the hinges. I called sonnet the very next day to make a claim about repairing my car door because common sense tells you if the ignition was off the keys were in my hand and I was about to get out then it cant possibly be my fault, and yet they said it was 100% my fault. I obviously got mad right away and they said the best they can do is drop it to 50/50 which makes no sense. How can you say it’s 100% somebody’s fault and then drop it to 50/50 and put it on my record. They are so lucky I don’t know who they are, let’s just put it that way.

I have been with sonnet for almost a year and half. I got into an accident and it’s over a month now and I haven’t heard from them again. Every time, I call them they keep saying “it’s under investigation and they will contact me as soon their investigation is ready.”
I just checked my account this morning and they came to their monthly payment – who does that? First of all, you didn’t say anything about the car, whether you’re paying or not. Yet you guys are so quick to take my payment from my account. I honestly regret going with you guys.

Avoid Sonnet Insurance
When I first signed up with Sonnet Insurance 1 year ago I thought they were amazing. Great prices, friendly service, it was great! Fast forward 1 year and it was time to renew my insurance policy. Sonnet sent me an email saying my car and house insurance will be renewed. I thought nothing of this other than the fact my insurance would be renewed. Not long after the amount being charged to my credit card was charged, but it was higher than normal. I called Sonnet Insurance and they said my policy went up by $1,500.00 per year. I had no claims, no tickets, my record was clean. I asked the representative why did you not send me an email informing me my rates were going up. I was told that the responsibility is mine to login to my account and check the rates. I said that I ridiculous, why would I login to my account when I do not need to. If Sonnet Insurance can send me an email informing me that my policy is being renewed, then they can send me another email telling me my rates are increasing. What a difference 1 year has made with Sonnet. Their hold times are appalling and customer service has gone down hill. I would not deal with Sonnet Insurance again!

Unauthorized policy changes by Sonnet
I updated my policy because I had moved and wanted to change addresses (apparently I had to update the whole policy from scratch despite moving just down the street to the same residence type). I lock in my quote. Alright. Some weeks later, I get charged significantly more than expected. I log in to look over my policy and I find the site has since been updated and there’s options in there that weren’t even available before. These new options have all been automatically set to the recommended selections, inflating the price. Once again, I find myself revising my whole policy… after being charged for services which weren’t even applicable to my residence type. Brutal.
On a lesser note, they have the least reliable, most unstable website I have ever encountered. I say that with zero embellishment or exaggeration. Often loading screens go on loading endlessly, but more often than not they just give you the message: “Uh oh! Something went wrong while we were getting your quotes. Please try again.” Making changes over the phone is borderline impossible as well; customer service was polite and kind on both occasions I called, but seemed to have little idea of what to do.
Wait until you file a claim.
I chose Sonnet due to the simplicity of their online set-up, monthly payments, competitive rates and email communication. All went well in the beginning.
Eight months in I had to file a glass claim to replace the front windshield on my Corvette, my first glass claim in 30 years. They stalled, tried to substitute after-market glass, which didn’t exist, wanted to use glass from a lower trim model and, finally, told me that they would not pay the full price for the correct part plus installation. Long story short and 12 days later my glass installer finally talked to the right level of management and the job was completed.
My claims record for both home and auto insurance is spotless, save for the recent glass claim. Has been for 30 years. Come time for renewal and my auto policy increases by 12% and my home owner’s by 186% – yes that’s right, no claims and no changes from the previous year. I requested an explanation, in writing, they told me that they couldn’t do that, not their policy, please call customer service or I could cancel my policies online. I’ll let you guess what I did.

Beware! Worst insurance company. I strongly dislike their service. Its been 38 days and my claim is still “under investigation”. No rental car was given to me saying that it cannot be provided until the claim is approved.
– Cancelling policies by giving inappropriate reasons.
– If you call them, average waiting time is more than an hour approximately.
– The customer service representatives are very unprofessional and lack knowledge of almost everything.
– Finding every possible reason to deny a claim and save money.
– No linkage/communications between their departments (Adjustors/Underwriting/Customer service). You tried contacting any of them, they will come across a same answer: No status on your file yet.
– Big raise in monthly instalments after having even a small claim.
– Delaying the processing of claims enforcing the clients to do the required repairs on their own.
I’m a 33 year old “new” driver in Ontario. I have had my class G2 for a year now, and today, got my class G (final permit). My insurance was sitting at a steep $196 for the past year, and I received an email recently that it’s be going up to $260. I figured my G would at least balance this out a little, bit when I phoned, they said my G class didn’t effect a thing. I have yet to see an insurance company who RAISES your monthly rate AFTER obtaining your final license class, after a year of driving accident-free and ticket-free.

Sonnet is great
I have had cancelled insurance in past and sonnet still gave me the best car insurance rate I’ve ever paid. Only $68 per month for 2 drivers on SUV. Full coverage that is clearly outlined in paperwork. Moved address flawlessly, contacted without issue to change payment method. Renewal papers came by ma and email along with insurance slips 2 months prior to renewal month. And at a slightly lower rate than last year.

Worst insurance company ever. The amount of headaches and struggles we had with you was incredible. One of the most frustrating things every day was dealing with you.
My Fiancee was at a not at fault car accident and while she was recovering she gave me the authorization to handle the claim for her. I was told I didn’t have authorization and she had to call a second time to give me authorization, then it happened again. So three times she gave me the authorization to speak on her behalf.
The adjuster that was handling our claim WAS NEVER IN OFFICE. I called for a week and a half straight and I would always get the voicemail. We had questions because the total loss settlement amount you gave us was lower than expected. The only way to contact our adjuster was through emails and he ignored our questions and took 1-2 days to reply. Sometimes even had to send a follow-up email to get an answer.
I had to wait 2 hours to talk to customer support just to be hung up on because the agent told me he wouldn’t keep the conversation going after I was requesting to talk to the adjuster because he was taking forever to reply to our questions in our emails. Since so much time went by without an answer we had to extend our rental car for a few days from our pocket due to your incompetence. When we asked to be reimbursed for the rental extension due to our adjuster not being in office and taking long times to reply, I was told they couldn’t do that and they hung up on me in a very rude way.
The emails we sent asking for reimbursement for the rental extension were completely ignored by our adjuster and it wasn’t until we were over it and accepted the settlement that they quickly emailed us back to sign the paperwork.
Your service is as cheap as your quotes.

This insurance company is a fraud and I feel like an idiot for ever coming to this company. I was in a not at fault accident almost 2 weeks ago and I have YET to hear from them. I get more phone calls from the car rental place asking what’s going on with my claim!!! The car rental place said if they don’t hear from Sonnet that I will need to pay! I PAY OVER $300.00 IN CAR INSURANCE… I SHOULD NOT PAY FOR THIS. When I call the “customer service” line, all they say is ” we will make a note on file and someone will call you”. WHAT KIND OF INSURANCE COMPANY OPERATES LIKE THIS?!?!?!? AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

Stay away from this fraud company. They will significantly increase your insurance by over $100 at time of renewal even with perfect driving records and 0 claims.
I tried to contact this company to update my payment information but could not get through to speak with an agent. Online chat was not helpful. Tried to update my payment information online unsuccessfully (website did not work). Made me question their customer service if I actually made a claim! Ended up cancelling and returning to TD Meloche Monnex.
I have been with sonnet 2 years and my car insurance for 2 cars was $325 monthly and with the renewal I will ONLY be paying $827.
Stay Away from Sonet
First year price was little bit better then what we have for 7 years with TD so we switch over 2 homes and 2 cars on first renewal price for homes went up 50 % with some non sense explanations like increase sever storms in our area etc… oland yes we did have claim ever I can imagine how will that look like….

I had a fire at my rented house call the insurance in February told him about it I couldn’t live there anymore and was told by the fire department said not to come back until everything was fixed I told my adjuster this I couldn’t get a hotel because I don’t have a credit card so I was staying at a friends house after finally settling my claim I had my belongings that were cleaned and returned to me at my new address I was still being billed for my old address that I have not stayed in since February it’s now May 7 and I’m still paying for my old address These guys refuse to refund me any money saying they don’t have proof I don’t live there and it’s up to me to contact their contractors to get information that they remove my belongings and delivered it to my new house this place is a joke and a scam

This Insurance is a fraud
I was recently in a not at fault incident and try to claim the damage with this company… I have been to three different location for proper estimate with certified collision care repair facility for $4000 cost in damage – consistent with three other autobody shop estimate. They decide to send me to one of their cheapest unreliable autobody – Carstar or whatever that horrible repair company it. They took pictures around the car and not underneath the car which is where most of the damage is at and came back with an estimate of $2000 and on top of that i would need to pay a 75% betterment fee in the total of $600!. I asked for them to send me to their parent autobody shop Boyd Auto Body for more reliable estimate and they said they will only pay $1400 regardless of what other autobody quote the damage. This is a total fraud of a company and i plan on following this up with alberta insurance council if Sonnet thinks they can just bully me on this claim.

I had an not at fault accident and sent in all my paperwork for income replacement. I should of gotten a response back within 10 business days it is now 20 business days and they have YET to get back to me. They don’t care about their customers and I will be suing
Great rates … first year! 29% increase on house, 300% on cars in year 2. Had one claim for a pebble in the windshield valued at $123.00, resulting in a $1,000 increase in the premium. Never again!
Couldn’t ask for better
I have had Sonnet for almost two years now. I have made an af fault claim, I’ve missed a payment, I have a home that many insurance companies are reluctant to deal with. I’ve never had a problem with customer service or my rates. I couldn’t be happier to have Sonnet to keep me protected. I only wish they extended their coverage to atvs but it’s not something to complain about.

Cancelled my policy after 1 year and couldn’t give a valid reason. This is nothing more than a giant scam. They sign people up, take their fees for a year (as very few people are likely to file a claim in this time) then cancel their policies with some “changes to their underwriting” story but cannot provide any valid reason. I was given every excuse in the book (too many traffic tickets/violations (i don’t drive), poor credit rating (it’s steadily been improving for the last 3 years) and then when all their excuses failed I was told by one agent I was being discriminated against and another told me she could see absolutely nothing wrong with my account. Horrible company taking advantage of people. Will NEVER touch another product or service by anyone associated with this company

When you try to get a insurance is fast for sure they try to grab you money, but when it come to claim, they will try to save every penny from their pocket.
I used trust this company very well and I introduced at least 10 of my friends use this company, but now it really let me down. When the accident happen, you call them to claim. At first they will try to delay the investigat to make sure you pay an extra month. And if your car have been write off they will give you a low ball offer you couldn’t believe. (I make a claim and my friend make two)
Also for the insurance fee per month, it promised us basic on their computer they will give your the lowest price, but it not, for example a 08 EVO, They offer was 398 but TD only cost 298, for a 09 Maserati GT they offer 498 meanwhile TD was 460(because we were international students so we Insurance rate was high). Ask other insurance company before you want to buy from them!

These guys have simply the worst customer service for an insurance company ever. I have had 3 NO FAULT accidents and they couldn’t organize a 1 man parade. Had to make every phone call myself, from start to finish. DON”T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH SONNNET AKA ECONOMICAL INSURANCE
