As some of you may know, Mitch Insurance Brokers have been tearing up trees in the last few years to transform insurance for drivers and homeowners.
Mitch have challenged the perceived wisdom in the industry by making it a simple, quick and human process. It was amazing to see this recognized last month as Mitch were named Insurance Broker of the Year by the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario.

Day 1: A New Focus
I count myself as one of Mitch’s customers… which was one of the catalysts that took me on my new journey: to help Mitch build the same amazing insurance offer for small businesses in Canada that they do for homeowners and drivers.
Let’s face it: small businesses in Canada have a tough time when it comes to insurance. The application process alone is a lengthy, confusing and complicated one and it’s really tough to answer your most basic question: how much will it cost to get the insurance coverage I need for my business? I don’t even want to mention the follow-up question around how you can be sure that what you’re buying is what you actually need and that your biggest exposures are protected. When was the last time that you read your business insurance policy?
Rising to the Challenge
I’m going to let you in on a little secret: buying business insurance is difficult for you because it’s also really difficult for your insurance broker and your insurer. There are a lot of moving parts and complexities that need to be managed and a lot of running around behind the scenes to keep the wheels turning. Your insurance broker is probably working hard to make this as painless as possible for you, but there is only so much they can do when faced with such complexity.
There’s got to be another way… where buying insurance for your business is as simple as buying it for your car. Where you can find solutions at your fingertips that are flexible and easy to understand whenever you want them. Where you are in the driving seat and deciding what you want to pay vs. how much risk you are prepared to take in your business.
Imagine if you could have all of this and still get the traditional benefits of an insurance broker: independent advice, expertise, friendly support and access to multiple insurers to do the shopping around so you don’t have to.
